Golden Acres Christian School encourages homeschooling families to consider active involvement in a support group. Support groups allow families to participate in additional group activities or field trips. The Phenix City area is blessed with several options.

An Option for Homeschooling Families

 
Thank you for your interest in Golden Acres Christian School. This unique ministry is available to all Alabama families regardless of church affiliation. Our school provides:

Enrollment for the 2009-2010 school year is now CLOSED

Returning GACS families will be notified by mail about enrollment for the 2009-10 school year.
We are currently working on changing our enrollment process so that everything may be done online. Until this is ready, we will be prepared to take enrollments by mail beginning in June. Enrollment must be receiving in the school office before August 31, 2009.

New Homeschooling Families
If you decide to apply with our school you may go to our forms page and print the enrollment forms. Please complete the Registration Form, Student Record Release and Disclaimer. Submit these pages along with the $10 application fee. Please make checks payable to Golden Acres Christian School. Applications may be made through the mail or at an Open House meeting during the summer.

Please allow at least 5-7 business days to process your application. Notification of acceptance may be done by mail or email. Please keep a copy of your acceptance for future use. Some businesses may give discounts to homeschoolers if they can show proof of schooling.

All enrolled families must have a parent attend the Parent Meeting on September 3rd. More details at the bottom of this page.

Sports: News!

Homeschool Sports are now being coordinated through a brand new organization call Georgia and Alabama Christian Sports.  Homeschool dad, John Smith, will be the contact person for this program. If you would like to become involved with homeschool athletics, please contact him at smithmom9800@yahoo.com
 
Why the change?
Many people are confused by the affiliation with an Alabama church school and how enrollment has been done. Often students don't event pursue athletics thru Golden Acres because they don't need a church school. By separating the sports and the "cover school" we hope to appeal to a broader spectrum of homeschooling students.
 
Please continue to support homeschool sports in our area. They will still be the Lions and their colors will remain BLUE and GOLD.
 
 

Transcripts

Transcripts are available for high school students. Transcripts will be constructed from the progress reports provided by the parent. Copies of the student transcript are available for $10. Please allow 5-7 business days to process your request.

Annual Parent Meeting
Thurs., September 3, 2009 7:00 pm EST   
at Golden Acres Baptist Church
3405 S. Railroad St.
Phenix City, AL

 
This is a required meetig for all enrolled families. Please make plans to attend. There will be no childcare provided at this meeting and it is for parents only. Please make other arrangements for your children. At least one parent from each family must be present. If you do not attend, we will have to dis-enroll your students from our school and notify the superintendent's office that you are no longer in compliance with our school's requirements.
If you cannot attend, you must have approval from the school administrator at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.

Tuition and Reports

Registration for new families is $10. This is a one time only fee and is in addition to tuition.

Annual Tuition is $30 per family. Make checks payable to Golden Acres Christian School.

Any GACS forms may be printed from the new Forms webpage. Just click on the link above to print any Progress Reports or Attendance Reports.

1st Semester Reports are due January 15th.
2nd Semester Reports are due June 15th.
