Golden Acres Christian School encourages homeschooling families to consider active involvement in a support group. Support groups allow families to participate in additional group activities or field trips. The Phenix City area is blessed with several options.

An Option for Homeschooling Families

 
Thank you for your interest in Golden Acres Christian School. This new, unique ministry is available to all Alabama families regardless of church affiliation. Our school provides:

Compliance with Alabama law

High school transcripts

Curriculum advice

Training workshops

Home school support  

Sports for homeschoolers ages 12-18

Enrollment for the 2007-2008 school year ended on September 1, 2007. 

Enrollment for the 2007-2008 school year is closed unless:

  1. Your student is in imminent danger at school
  2. You recently moved to the Phenix City area and are an existing homeschooling family
  3. You recently moved to the Phenix City area with the military.

These are the only exceptions for midyear enrollment.

Enrollment for the 2008-2009 school year will begin June 1, 2008 and remain open until September 1, 2008. Please feel free to look over our enrollment packet and contact us by email if you have any questions.

If you decide to apply with our school you may requst an application packet by email at suzannesheppard@bellsouth.net. Please complete the registration page, student record release and disclaimer. Submit these pages along with the $10 application fee. Please make checks payable to Golden Acres Christian School. Applications may be made through the mail or by setting up an appointment with the school administrator.

Appointments for enrollment may be made for Monday afternoons. Please email to set up your appointment time.

Please allow 5-7 business days to process your application. Notification of acceptance may be done over the phone, by mail or via email.

Sports:

Athletic enrollment is available to homeschooling students in Alabama and Georgia between the ages of 12-18. Enrollment for academics and athletics are filed separately. For more information about our homeschool sports program, please go to www.sports.freedomhomeschoolers.com

Transcripts

Transcripts are available for high school students. Transcripts will be constructed from the progress reports provided by the parent. Copies of the student transcript are available for $5. Please allow 5-7 business days to process your request.

Sports Planning Meeting

Mon. May 12th at Golden Acres

If you are planning to participate in any sports for the 2008-09 school year, please attend this meeting. We need to plan our schedule and find out how many are interested in each sport so we can know if we have enough to form a team. We will also discuss the need for volunteers within this program.
 

Tuition and Reports

Registration for new families is $10. This is a one time only fee and is in addition to tuition.

Annual Tuition is $20 per family. Make checks payable to Golden Acres Christian School.

Attendance Forms must be completed for each child. Forms are included in the Registration Packet and must be turned in twice a year. You may print out your attendace forms by clicking on the link above.

Progress Reports must be completed for each child. Forms for Elementary and High School students are included in the Registration Packet. Reports are due twice a year. Click on the links above  and print out the forms you need.
